RIANSARES MUÑOZ OLIVAS

Professor of the Analytical Dept., Faculty of Chemistry, UCM.

She studied Chemistry at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (1986-1991) and obtained her PhD in Analytical Chemistry and Environment at the Université de Bordeaux I in 1996.

Subsequently, she joined the Analytical Chemistry Department of the UCM with a Reincorporation contract from the Ministry of Education and Science, and between 2001 and 2005 she was a beneficiary of a grant from the Ramón y Cajal programme for suitable researchers.

In terms of teaching, she was Associate Professor at the University of Huelva, and since 2005 she has been employed at the UCM, first as Associate Professor and since 2008 as Full Professor, combining these tasks with the position of Vice-Dean of Students at the Faculty of Chemistry from 2010 to 2018.

She has carried out several pre- and post-doctoral stays in international centres (France, Italy, UK, USA); she is co-author of more than 50 scientific articles, four multi-authored books and two patents.

She has participated in more than 20 nationally and internationally funded research projects.

She has co-directed 6 doctoral theses.

She is currently working on several research lines, all of them related to metal contaminants and nanoparticles in different solid samples of environmental and biological interest.
